Please welcome Eric Toh, who joins us as the new Financial Analyst

I was born and raised in Vancouver. In 2017, I completed a double option Bachelor of Commerce degree in Accounting and Business Technology Management from UBC. I have been employed at UBC since my graduation and have been working in various roles on the UBC campus for several years.

What’s one professional skill you’re currently working on?

Trying to improve my Excel skills since it’s a big part of my job and there is always something to learn with Excel.

What’s your go-to productivity trick?

Coffee break! It’s never too late for coffee.

Are you an early bird or a night owl?

Totally a night owl.

How do you prefer to start your day?

Get out of bed, clean myself up and then grab a light breakfast and coffee.

How do you wind down after work?

Get in a workout or watch some TV. Usually something on Netflix or sports.

What energizes you at work?

Coffee and when tasks get completed.

What is your favorite thing to do when you’re not working?

A nice bike ride or hanging out with friends.

What led you to this career?

Got my first job after graduation at UBC and it was related to my field of study. Then I just stayed the course.

Who has influenced you most when it comes to how you approach your work?

My parents in terms of having a good work ethic. My managers throughout my work in how to approach problems and solving them.

Have you ever had to “unlearn” something in your professional life? What was it?

That not everything has to be perfect.

Additionally, Eric's positive attitude and willingness to continuously learn and improve make him a pleasure to work with.
