    "Characterizing atherosclerosis at the molecular level to improve treatment outcome of anti-inflammatory therapies"

      Learning objectives:
    1. Tackle the problems seen in the CANTOS trial: using multiplex imaging to define the “bad” cytokines in human coronary lesions
    2. Discuss who will benefit from colchicine: defining the therapeutic targets of colchicine in clinically relevant models and human coronary lesions.

  • Through Diabetes Canada's #EndDiabetes Awards research competition, Dr. Bruce Verchere will receive a $100,000 grant annually for three years to fund his work tackling this condition. Title: Islet prohormone processing and beta cell dysfunction in type 1 diabetes | Research area: Type 1 diabetes | Award: End Diabetes 2022 Award, 2022-2025. Congratulations! !


  • Dementia Dialogue Podcast: "What are biomarkers and how are they connected to Alzheimer’s Disease?" Dr. Mari DeMarco discusses how diagnosis can be improved by discovering and using biomarkers on the dementia dialog podcast.


  • Dr. Blake Gilks and his team recently published a practice-changing paper on NSMPs, the most commonly occurring molecular subtype of endometrialcarcinomas.


  • Check out Dr. Will Lockwood's team new protocol paper on uncovering drug-protein interactions in cancer cells lead by @FJ_Scientist in collaboration with Gregg Morin's proteomics group @BCCancer_GSC. "Tandem mass tag-based thermal proteome profiling for the discovery of drug-protein interactions in cancer cells"


  • Dr. Stephen Yip's paper on dissecting the role of SMARCB1 in poorly-diff #chordoma paper is out.



PATHOLOGY DAY - JUNE 1, 2023 (VENUE: Diamond Healthcare Centre (floor 1 and 2) for the talks and MSAC for the posters and evening networking event) This year's Pathology Day will feature lectures and keynotes on artificial intelligence, with an emphasis on machine learning, deep learning and related approaches topic.
