New and Renewed Canadian Research Chairs in our Department

Congratulations to Dr. Aly Karsan and Dr. Jayachandran Kizhakkedathu for being awarded the new Tier 1 Canadian Research Chair, and Dr. Samuel Aparicio for his renew of Tier 1 Canadian Research Chair. This is the highest recognition in Canadian research arena.

UBC was awarded 19 CRCs this year, among which 8 was in the Faculty of Medicine, and among those 8, 3 are in our department. This will increase the number of Canadian Research Chairs in our department from 3 to 5, a huge boost to the departmental research profile.
