RESIDENT RESEARCH OPPORTUNITIES FOR DPLM CLINICAL & ACADEMIC FACULTY
The AP Program has crafted a new method for staff members throughout our Department to submit proposals for residents to review for potential research projects.
The form may not be perfect, and we may go through some growing pains, but we are hoping that we can create interest amongst all of our faculty members to become engaged in resident research. After filling out the ***form*** linked here, the projects will be populated into a database that residents are able to review. If they are interested in a project, they will be able to contact you or the program for more information. Please bookmark this link or save the address (https://forms.gle/aHjr4iKbTcYdVuoA8 ) on your desktop for future uses! These projects do not have to be only ‘traditional’ research projects, they can also be quality improvement measures as well. Projects that do not require monetary support for the resident can also be listed here. Ad hoc projects can still be arranged with specific residents outside of this method as historically been the case.
We are intentionally launching this project close to PathDay in hopes of catching you all when our collective minds are thinking about research. We hope that this will spur faculty throughout the province, who have not worked with a resident on a project, to become more engaged with the program. And for those of you who are regular supporters of resident research, this will just provide you another way to advertise your projects.
Our program has had a very strong academic presence and we both have had previously successful experiences with residents. We hope that by engaging our academic faculty throughout BC with this relatively easy-to-use form, our residents will continue to be at the forefront of participating in research and have opportunities to be leaders at local and international conferences. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to us.
If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to us at Jonathan.bush@cw.bc.ca . Thanks everyone for your continued support of the AP program!
